52 Week Art Journal 2010

Here we go girls 52 week art journal will start on the 1st of January

your art journal can be any size you wish as long as it has 52 pages. a cover nad back whetther it be an actual book or atc's, or a hand made book.

remember this is not a competition or a swap - just your own private art journal with certain challenges each week.as set by me. so have a lot of fun and for those wishing to start here are some starters for you

FRONT COVER

but before then we can decorate our front covers with left over paper or anything you have used in the last month or so. being an art journal, we are in a way showcasing what we have been doing for the week, and using those scraps to make a page each week.

SCRAP BOX

we will all need to set up a scrap box, (this can be decorated to use at the end to put our journal in). each week we put any scraps of crafty bits we have been using over the previuos week. these will be used each week for the weekly challenge - getting my drift girls.

be bit patient til i iron out any wrinkles, and get this post to say what i mean i might even need the majic fairy to have a visit

What cha doin' , ME you ask, why I'm taking photos of course

Sometimes I pretend to be normal. But it gets boring.
So I go back to being me.

Week 1

MOSAIC - remember what we did as kids and cut or tore up bits of paper and stuck them down to make pictures, well here is your chance. and as i am in hobart and at the wrest point casino, this week it had me thinking - there are mosaic glass and tile pictures everywhere here on the walls on the floor.

So use up your recent
SCRAP PAPER stash you have been collecting

use some dimensional magic

a and the letter T for Tasmania not necessarily for tas.

if you like you can do a diary page on the back of your page.

Week 2

WATER


seeing as it is summer here and winter O/S water seemed a good theme for this week, i have been swinmming in our local lagoon for 3 days straight, the water is a bit murky but it is cool.

you can use blues, whites and water colors
also use some of those bubble stickers that look like water droplets if you have them, this should be a good way to use some of them up
as for paper if you have water paper use some of that too

week 3

is all about travels, trips, holidays, as i have been away this weekend and some of you have too. if you havent been away this week, then you can use a trip you have been on recently - even if it was to the supermarket.....

how about using some travel paper, and trinkets and embellishments.
some newspaper or paper from a magazine
brown, sepia, black - are your base colors to make it look old fashioned.

week 4

this weeks theme is the word ART
what makes you make art?,
what inspires you to make art?,
why do you like art so much.
and this week we will use any scraps we have left over from our weeks art we have done, whatever it may have been
and have the word art on your page

WEEK 5

this week its all about flowers and brads and eylets i would like you to try this technique C/O Emily

hand make your flowers and use brads or eyelets for the centres.
have fun with color - the brighter the better.

WEEK 6

My influence this week came from a wedding of some close friends and the bride wore black and white.

this week with all the ups n downs i will let you all have a free week to do whatever you choose to do.

WEEK 8


is all about the birds in your garden. at the moment the birds are really busy in my garden preparing for autumn.


if you have a photo of the birds in your garden you can use it

you can use some feathers if you have any

get out your rubber stamps of birds and have a play with some embossing powder. if you have any

WEEK 9

our theme this week is a color theme lets see how you go with brown/sepia tones

i would like you to create a heritage page using some LACE, Ribbon or TWINE

and a saying or poem of some sort suited to your page you are doing

and using a bit of glitter.

week 10

this week we are doing a monochrome color challenge in the color BLACK

no other colors allowed

things you can include are buttons, beads and wire all in black.

week 11

this weeks topic is SEWING i have been giving miss 7 some sewing lessons this weekend.

so get out your sewing machine or hand sew if you dont have one.

i would like you to use sewing items on your page like PINS, NEEDLES, COTTON, any sewing items you have.

and a BORDER around your page

WEEK 12

well its Try This Technique Time

week 13


EASTER WITH A TWIST - we all know RABBITS dont LAY EGGS dont we

well this week i want you all to do a twisted easter page

using some foil from those left over easter eggs if you kept any

and make yourself up a page using any animal that DOES lay eggs, it can be any animal, and i would like yuo to use some of the foil instead of paper for decoration

and make some eggs with the foil too , dont forget to say happy easter...

this week we will have a word - feel free to interpret it as you see fit, no special challenges.

WEEK 15

this week it is all about stamps (POSTAGE STAMPS)

i would like you to make up an envelope front using a postage stamp or 2 or more, and decorate it with rubber stamps, or drawings, or pictures of your choice.
you can make up the address if you wish or use a real one.

as it is earth day thursday 22nd, how about we do something to do with this special day.

here is your challenge should you choose to accept it

create a layout using leaves and grass and flowers or anything to do with the earth and the outdoors.

colours should be earth tones like browns greens oranges and reds.

WEEK 18



this week is mothers day so its all about ROSES and PINK.

create your layout using some rose paper or gift wrap or whatever you have. for the background paper
COLORS are PINKS and use pretty feminine things, i would like you to use some flowers

WEEK 19

as my favorite show finished after 6 years. i have watched every episode some even twice.

this week. the word is LOST.....

WEEK 21

this week it is all about TIME, and CLOCKS.

using browns blacks silvers and golds, to create a time, clock related page. use some clock parts if you have any.

BUT==== you must not use the phrase''time flies'''this should make it a little harder for you.

this week it ia all about chocolate, using brown paper to create something to do with chocolate, it could be ice cream, choc bikkies, or just plain old yummy chocholate.

things to use are.... some brown paper, an icy pole stick, chocolate wrapping paper, and some lace.

this weeks challenge should you choose to accept is using a DOMINO and decorate it

i would like too see some glitter, smalll beads and the color blue.

we need to use some of those manly colors likes blues, blacks, greens to create a layout to do with boys toys, these can be either childrens or mens things they like to play with. like cars motor bikes, playstation etc.

WEEK 25

WINTER is here, well it is very chilly here anyway.

so this week we will do something to do with winter and rain and snow and whatever takes your fancy. you could use up some of those jelly stickers for the rain, umbrellas to keep the rain off or even a giant overcoat to keep you warm - there are no rules this week just, have fun making a cold chilly page for us to see and you to keep.
